Domain Manager

Follow the instructions below to log onto your "Manage your Domain Account" to maintain Domain ownership, password, administration, billing, technical contact information, Manage Name Servers and DNSPlus configuration information.
  1. Log onto your Domain Account

On the home page, click on the button that is labled "Member Login". When you click that link, you will be transferred to the "Manage your Domain"  Log- on Page.

Click the "log-on to your domain" link or click the button titled "Domain Login".  You will be transfered to the domain login page.

In the appropriate input fields;

Enter the Domain Name
User Name
Password

Then Press the "Manage Domain" button

Note, if you only have DNSPlus,  then click on the link below the "Manage Domain" button that says, click here and log into your DNSPlus account.

If you entered your log- on information correctly, then you will be transferred to the "Manage your Domain page",  goto 2.

Otherwise you will be transferred to the "Error Page" where you will be told that you have an "Authentication Error" and  instructions to "Please click the back button on your browser and correct the error". You must enter the correct log- on information correctly in order to be authorized to modify your domain information.

If you do not remember your log- on information, send an email to support@nicgrab.com requesting that we send you a copy of your log-on information. You must include your domain name in this email else we will not know what domain you are referring to.

 

  1. Manage your Domain

There are 8 functions that you can perform from this page. The function short cuts are listed across the top of the page and a more detailed explaination and link can be found under "Navigation Help"

All of the functions are well documented on each individual page with the exception of changing the Name Servers.  For that reason, you will find detailed instructions below on how to change your name servers.

If you have multiple domains,  you will find a link directly the top links that says "Manage Another Domain: xx Total, under this link is an input box that allows you to enter another domain name. If you want to work on another domain other than the one that shows up in the top box,  click either  the xx total link (that will show you all of your domain names (then click one to select it) or enter the domain name into the input box and click find domain. If you receive an error, you entered the wrong name. Use the xx total link, its the easiest and shows you all domain names.

  1. Change your Name Servers

To change your name servers, you will need to

1) Log onto your domain account (see above)

2) click either the top short cut link titled "Name Servers" or the link under "Navigational Help" called "Manage Name Servers"

Clicking that link will transfer you to the "- Manage Name Servers - " page.

On this page,  you will find in the current Primary and Secondary name servers. To change name servers from the current name servers to new name servers, all you need to is type the new name server name over the old ones. (Primary one first, then secondary, etc).

You can then check the remove box to remove any name servers that you will not be using.

To add additional name servers (like
Name server 3, 4, 5), scroll down to the bottom of the form and enter your additional name server name into the box titles "Server Hostname" then click the add name server button.

Repeat this process for each additional name server.

If for some reason you receive an error message "Unable to add nameserver: Command failed: unable to verify existence of nameserver nsx.xxxxxxxx.com"  then you either entered the name server incorrectly or the name server does not exist in the OpenSRS system. If you receive this error message and you have entered it correctly, send an email to support@nicgrab.com and advise them of the situation. Support will be more than happy to assist you in correcting the problem.

You can now click on the "Log Out" short cut or the link under the "Navigational Help" to exit the Manage Domain function or select another Manage Domain function.

Note: If you have your own DNS servers,  you can make this domain name an authorative name server.

  1. Profile Management

    To Manage Your Domain Profile, you will need to click either the top short cut link titled "Profile" or the link under "Navigational Help" called "Manage Profile"

Clicking that link will transfer you to the "- Profile Manager - " page. On this page,  you will have the ability to ;

  • Change your Domain Password - Change the password used to manage this profile.

  • Create/Manage a Sub-User - You may add an additional username and password associated with this domain in order to allow multiple people to update your records. You can restrict access for this sub-user to allow only certain records to be modified.

  • Change Ownership of Domain - You may create a new profile for this domain or move it to a different profile you own. If you have multiple domain and want to manage them under one log-on.  Use this function to consolidate your domains.

When you select this function, you will be transferred to the "Change Ownership of Domain" page.

Enter the user name and password of the domain you want to move this domain to. For example, if the domain you want to move is called domaina.com and the domain that you will move the other domains to. is called domainb.com, then you must enter the user id and password of domainb.com.

If you are just changing the user id and password, after entering that information just click "Change Owner" and the new logon information will be in effect.

If you want to move this domain to an existing profile,

  • Click the check box "move to existing profile" and enter the name of the domain you want to move this domain to into the "Previously registered domain" box on this form .
  • Click "Change Owner" and the domain will be place in the domain profile entered in the "Previously registered domain" box.

If you want to move all domains under a domains profile to an existing profile, 

  • Click the check box "Move all domains associated with this profile" and enter the name of the domain you want to move this domain to into the "Previously registered domain" box on this form .
  • Click "Change Owner" and all of the domains will be move into the domain profile entered in the "Previously registered domain" box.

Now repeat this for each domain that you want to move.
